Having Trouble Feeling “Ready”?

Let’s talk about “feeling ready” in your business.

This is something all of my clients go through. A lot of people say “I don’t feel ready for ____ yet”. Whether it’s investing in a coach, a program, getting clients, or outsourcing. But a lot of times, that thing you don’t feel ready for is THE THING that’s going to get you to your desired result.

Take a moment to ask yourself what you’re actually doing today, tomorrow, and every week, to get you to that place of feeling “ready.” If you find that you’re not actually doing anything different, you’re probably never going to feel “ready.”

WHAT ARE YOU DOING RIGHT NOW?

If you’re saying that you’ll feel ready to get a coach when you’re making consistent income in your business — what are you doing differently right NOW to start making consistent income? What are you doing differently now that you weren’t doing before? If you don’t know how to get consistent income but you’re telling yourself you can’t get help until you have it, how are you actually supposed to get there?

Similarly, if you feel like you can’t outsource yet because you don’t have systems and processes in place — what are you doing right NOW to develop those? You might be thinking, “Yeah, but I don’t have time to set them up right now.” But, will outsourcing give you back the time you need to set up those systems and processes? Probably.

YOU DON’T NEED TO WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE AN EXPERT!

Now, let’s talk about how much of an expert you REALLY need to be in order to start selling your services.

A lot of people think they need to learn as much as possible and become an expert before they start pitching to prospects. But, the reality is that every potential client has a different expectation level and different needs for their business. They still need help and they still need support.

For example — you don’t need to have been working in social media for years before you can start helping clients with their social media marketing strategy! If a prospective client hates marketing and they aren’t tech savvy, you don’t need to be an expert before you can help them and provide value for them. You just need to be a few steps ahead of them for them to see value in you and for them to PAY you.

FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN

Oftentimes not “feeling ready” is simply us being scared of feeling uncomfortable or being scared of the unknown. It’s important to recognize when you’re saying you’re not ready from a place of fear and think about the benefits of taking the leap and doing that thing that you know will get you to where you want to be! Do those benefits outweigh your feelings of not feeling ready?

Take a minute to ask yourself this: By doing the thing that scares you, how much faster will you finally be able to get to the result you want?

We talk about this a lot in Fast Fundamentals — especially when it comes to not feeling ready to market your business and or not pitching new potential clients because you don’t feel ready.

So, when will you finally feel ready?
